By stacking pond crates on top of each other, you can place plants at exactly the right depth without having to modify the pond. This allows you to create your own natural filter zone wherever you want, at the pond’s edge or in the middle of the pond. This plant filter works differently from the rest. You stack pond crates on top of each other and fill them with substrate for extra stability and optimal filtration. Each crate adds 16 cm of height. Tip: Is your pond deeper than 30 cm? If so, stack additional crates to reach the right height. The top of the topmost crate should be just below or just above the waterline. The water is finally clear

No matter what I tried, the water in my pond just wouldn't clear up. After exchanging a few emails, I decided to order this complete kit, though to be honest, I wasn't very confident it would work.
