The Pink Ground Orchid, also known as Bletilla striata ‘Pink’, is a robust flowering plant ideal for planting along the edge of a pond. It combines graceful pink flowers with a practical benefit: attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Thanks to its compact growth habit and preference for moist soil, it is perfectly suited for the pond’s shoreline. This hyacinth orchid blooms from May to July with striking pink flowers and grows to about 50 cm tall. It thrives best in moist, well-drained soil, in a spot with partial sun or light shade. The plant is hardy to -10 °C. After flowering, spent blooms can be easily removed. In the spring, the plant will sprout again on its own. Our terrestrial orchids are organically grown in our own nursery, without chemical fertilizers or heated greenhouses. The plant is perennial, requires little care, and returns every year. For a balanced pond, we recommend 2 baskets, each containing 4 marsh plants per 1,000 liters of water, for a total of 8 marsh plants. No matter what I tried, the water in my pond just wouldn't clear up. After exchanging a few emails, I decided to order this complete kit, though to be honest, I wasn't very confident it would work.
