Provides shade, grows steadily, and does exactly what you'd expect. The White Water Lily (Nymphaea alba) is the only native water lily in the Netherlands. With its bright white flowers and nearly round leaves, it brings tranquility, shade, and beauty to any pond. It opens its flowers at sunrise and closes them at sunset. Plant it in a sunny spot, at a depth of 10 to 100 cm, and you’ll enjoy this native water lily for years to come. This plant loves the sun and grows best with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Nymphaea alba is firmly rooted and derives its nutrients directly from the water, so no additional fertilization is needed. The leaves provide shade and help prevent algae growth. Additionally, the plant creates a safe hiding place for fish, frogs, and other aquatic life. As a native species, it does not spread aggressively but grows in a controlled manner into a mature plant. After a few years, you can divide it, easily turning one lily into several. This water lily is fully hardy and can last for decades. You should only remove dead leaves and flowers once they have completely decomposed; removing them earlier does more harm than good. By dividing it occasionally, you keep it vigorous and ensure continuous blooming. Under the right conditions, it blooms for up to six months a year, from June well into late summer. And thanks to its robust roots, it stays firmly in place, even in deeper parts of the pond. Package includes:

No matter what I tried, the water in my pond just wouldn't clear up. After exchanging a few emails, I decided to order this complete kit, though to be honest, I wasn't very confident it would work.
