You need twice as many oxygenating plants in a minimalist pond as in a planted pond, because a minimalist pond Aquatic plants marsh plants and Aquatic plants , which grow above the water’s surface. For optimal balance, we recommend 20–24 individual plants per 1,000 liters of water and 4 baskets containing 16 plants per square meter.
About this product
Keep your mirror pond clean and low-maintenance with this kit. Thanks to the floating oxygenating plants, your water stays crystal clear without the need for a pump or filter. The plants filter the water, inhibit algae growth, and provide a healthy habitat for fish. With the addition of porous substrate, your pond bottom gets a solid foundation for the roots of oxygenating plants and a home for beneficial bacteria that naturally purify the water.
What makes this product special
While plant ponds benefit from marsh and Aquatic plants, mirror ponds do not. That is why this package contains twice as many oxygenating plants as usual, combined with a layer of porous Pond substrate. The loose oxygenating plants make up for the lack of marsh plants, while the substrate ensures that plants can root properly and that beneficial pond bacteria can settle in the porous substrate’s cavities. This way, the pond remains clear while maintaining its own balance.

No matter what I tried, the water in my pond just wouldn't clear up. After exchanging a few emails, I decided to order this complete kit, though to be honest, I wasn't very confident it would work.
