The Great Sparganium Sparganium erectum) is a robust, native marsh plant that grows quickly and actively helps purify the water in your pond. The plant absorbs large amounts of nitrate, which helps prevent algae growth. With its sturdy leaves and distinctive summer blooms, it is a powerful addition to any pond, plant filter, or helophyte filter. This plant gets its name from its spiky, spherical flowers, which bloom between June and August. The leaves grow close together, giving the bank a lovely, full appearance. Sparganium via rhizomes and thrives in Pond substrate Pond soil. For best results, plant it in the bank area, in full sun or partial shade. Our hedgehog heads are grown in our own nursery without the use of artificial aids and are fully hardy. They require little care and return every year. For a healthy pond, we recommend 2 baskets, each containing 4 Aquatic plants 8 total), per 1,000 liters of water. Divide the plants every few years to maintain vigor and flowering. No matter what I tried, the water in my pond just wouldn't clear up. After exchanging a few emails, I decided to order this complete kit, though to be honest, I wasn't very confident it would work.
