A striking water lily that provides shade, helps control algae, and offers something new to see in your pond every day. The Nymphaea Black Princess is no ordinary water lily. With its dark red flowers that grow darker by the day, becoming almost black at the center, it’s a real showstopper. Plant it in the sun, at a depth of 10 to 100 cm, and you’ll not only get a unique water lily, but also less algae in the pond because its large leaves provide natural shade, reduce water heating, and create a sense of calm both underwater and above the water—something to look forward to every day. The Black Princess starts out red when it blooms, but as the days go by, it slowly turns almost black. That’s what makes it unique. The flowers bloom from June to September and are sturdy in form, just like the dark green leaves that cover a large portion of the water’s surface. As a result, it offers not only aesthetic appeal but also protection for fish and other pond life. Suitable for both large and smaller ponds, as long as there is enough sun and space. This lily is hardy and will last for years. Plant it in a spacious pond basket filled with Pond soil cover it with a layer of gravel to prevent it from washing away. Simply removing old leaves and spent flowers regularly is enough to keep it healthy. It draws its nutrients directly from the water and will naturally grow back as temperatures rise. No matter what I tried, the water in my pond just wouldn't clear up. After exchanging a few emails, I decided to order this complete kit, though to be honest, I wasn't very confident it would work.
