Many marsh plants should be planted no deeper than 20 cm. In deeper water, they will drown.
Use pond crates to raise the bottom in specific areas. This makes it easy to create the perfect planting depth without having to redo the entire pond.
How other customers solve this

Barry's "Koi Wall"
Barry had a problem: his koi carp kept destroying the plants. He built a wall out of pond crates to divide the pond.
Result: The plants safely purify the water behind the wall. The fish can nibble at the edges, but the core of the plant remains intact.

Marijke's Deep Solution
Marijke’s pond was very deep throughout, with no shallow areas for marsh plants. By stacking crates, she created her own zones.
The result: a lush pond filled with flowering plants at just the right height, without any costly renovations.
